Finally, a way to fix your poor audio quality from your newly purchased HP Mini 1000! (That is, without upgrading drivers…) Fix also applicable to Some dell Laptops.

Note – You won’t hear a sound difference in the video on a laptop without headphones, or on a PC without some good speakers (i.e. 2 speakers and some kind of subwoofer).

More details concerning this fix will be posted on myhpmini.com forums, as soon as the admins let me on the board.

NOTE: This registry mod was made only because the Driver update from HP gave me some problems, (Slow playback, distortion.) Other people have used the upgrade without problems, this is just an alternative I thought I’d share.

I got a call out of the blue from supportonclick from and they said that there were there to fix my PC problems that i didnt know i had. BIG RED FLAGS: THEY WANT YOU TO DOWNLOAD A PLUG IN AND WANT TO HAVE REMOTE ACCESS TO YOU COMPUTER, also they said there will be a service charge fee of $100. I follow along up until they want to remote access then i make up a story that i have a hardware problem. Others have also recieved calls from them.

I have a laptop with a broken keyboard that I hook up to a separate monitor, mouse, and keyboard, so it’s basically like my laptop is a tower. I brought it over to my boyfriends to hook it up here, have never had an problems with it before, and now it’s doing all kinds of crazy things. The first thing is the battery won’t charge. It says "plugged in but not charging." I’ve tried unplugging and replugging it in but that’s not fixing the problem.

And my main problem is when I put it to sleep, it basically just turns the monitor off and the fans keeps blowing and the lights stay on the laptop, and even if I move the mouse it won’t wake up. Even if I go to press the power button to attempt to wake it up, it won’t! I have to turn off the whole computer to get the screen to even turn back on.

Please help, this is insane!

Batteries dead. It means what it means, plugged in and not charging. It wont charge cause it cant charge. Getting a new laptop battery should fix it right up.

My PC is not responding. When I turn it on there is an error that says something like this:
“We apoligize for the inconvience, Windows could not start up properly. A recent hardware or software change may have caused this”

“If your computer stopped responding, restarted unexpectedly, or automatically shut down to protect your files and folders choose last known good configuration to revert back to the last time your computer worked properly.”

“If a previous startup was interupted by a power failure, the power or reset button(dumb com, i dont have a reset button) was pressed, or you arm’t sure what caused the problem, choose start windows normally.”

(then it lists these choosable options: NOTE: I have tried them all, none worked)
“Safe mode”
“safe mode with networking”
“safe mode with command promt”
“last known good configuration (last known setting that worked)”
“start windows normaly”

If you need to know : to access boot menu press Del. (on the far left of the keyboard (or it may look like this: . ) Also: I HAVE VERY LITTLE RAM LEFT!!!!!!!!!!!!

Haha, my computer is working just fine.
But I do have a little problem. Well, in my computer
I’m the computer administrator, the problem is
that I forgot my username and now i can’t log in
my account. Is there any way I can fix that?
Because i’m the only computer administrator.
It is a compaq desktop computer.

I FORGOT MY USERNAME NOT MY PASSWORD!!!!

There is a little trick in windows xp…Boot from you xp cd, choose to do a repair installation and when you get the screen that says ‘installation will complete in approximately ‘x’ minutes’, press shift-f10

You will get a command prompt and from there you can open any control panel applet.. Try typing ‘control userpasswords2′ and reset the admin password from there
