    I have had a similar problem after I installed the latest uTorrent. Got this:

    okay lstin to me i had this before dont listin to anyone. if you have latly just installed somthing go in safe and delete that file quickly it can damage you pc badly!!. so delete any file that you hvae installed latly that how i solved my problem

    Seriously, why do you need to even upgrade to Windows 7? It hasn’t been out yet, only the release candidate + beta version has.

    It is likely that a system file is corrupted,
    Get a Windows XP CD and install the recovery console. Do fixboot and chkdsk.

    Does it even matter with the stupid icons on your desktop? It has nothing to do with the problem

    If it said DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL

    It probably means one of the drivers are

    - Corrupted or missing
    - Malware (such as Trojan, Virus)
