Not A Tech Guy is an independent daily briefing on artificial intelligence, technology and the Australian property market. It is written for the people who have to make decisions about these things, business owners, investors and professionals, and who do not have time to read the research papers, the regulatory filings and the central bank releases themselves.
Most technology coverage is written by insiders for insiders. It reports what was announced and rarely what it changes. Every story here starts from the primary source, the paper, the regulator's release or the company's own disclosure, and answers one question: what does this mean for you, your money and your business.

How we work
Not A Tech Guy is an AI-assisted newsroom. Marcello Babbili sets the editorial rules, reads each day's output and handles corrections. The articles themselves are researched, drafted, fact-checked and published by automated pipelines and are not individually reviewed by a person before they go live. The rules those pipelines must follow:
- Every article is built from an audited evidence pack and cites its primary sources inline.
- A story that cannot be verified against an official source, that overlaps too closely with its source text, or that touches a prohibited topic is held, not published.
- Every article ends with “What we don't know yet”, a plain statement of where the evidence stops.
- Nothing published here is financial, legal or medical advice. See the editorial policy and corrections policy.
The founder
Not A Tech Guy was founded in 2026 by Marcello Babbili, an analyst based in New South Wales, Australia. He built the publication to keep pace with three forces reshaping how people live and work, artificial intelligence, technology and the Australian property market, and to make that record public.
